Case studies will focus on a selection of successful Australasian biotechnology corporations where the company is currently working with US partner(s) or in the process of setting up relationships with US corporations. This session is geared towards those interested in hearing about novel and innovative biotechnology discoveries, whether the attendee is a scientist or an executive involved in business development, new technology evaluation or licensing, or from a venture capital or investment company. Financing options are broadening, as the profile of a biotechnology investor
changes: corporations, Australian and New Zealand biotechnology ventures are discovering financing options with US investors that have an Australasian appetite and can collaborate with a local backer. The majority of these are still with venture capital funds with international or Australian interests. This panel is designed to discuss examples of US investment into Australian
and New Zealand ventures and why they have been successful. It will also
explore the model for successful international venture capital investment
